Our Office's 2015 Journal: I AM FOR PEACE

Time really flies so fast.  The first quarter of the year nearly ends.  Me and my office mates were wondering when will our office release its 2015 planner for the employees.  I'm not that a fan of a planner.  I prefer to write my schedules in a calendar (size of a one whole illustration board) than into a notebook-sized one.  It's weird because as far as I know my self, I'm an organized person and I like doodling on small papers, note pads, etc.

Anyway, when I arrived at the office after my 3 days leave, I noticed a black notebook sized thing on my desk.  I thought it was a book.  It's black and hard bound.  When I inspected it, I was amazed! It was a JOURNAL!  I love journals in every form of it.  I am surprised because our office annually gives us a planner which usually includes a calendar, address book, to do list, note page, monthly index, etc.  However, this year, they opted to give us a journal maybe because it's more appropriate for us employees 'cause of the many meetings that we attended daily which requires us to do note taking and so as to use that as a guide for making reports.

I love its appearance and texture.  Take a look at this:

I AM FOR PEACE

Very professional ang dating ano? Low key lang, very simple, not too loud.  I love that the doves and I am for peace logo were embossed in gold and white.  Here's what inside:

Front page cover: This picture more or less captures or summarizes the things/work that we do in order to attain peace for our country

It also has a detachable mini calendar that also serves as a bookmark for me

Back page cover:  The people who have partnered with us and worked hard for peace.  The people who have wanted and needed peace the most

Allow me to say that I am so much privileged to have been working in an office who's main role is to implement the comprehensive peace process in the Philippines.  For me, personally and with all honesty, it is more of a devotion and commitment that I chose to work here where I can share my helping hands, knowledge, experience, and talents to the needy, most unprivileged people of the conflict areas.  No words can explain the joy our beneficiaries gave us when they simply say thank you for the physical (development projects) and non-physical (training, workshops, etc.) assistance that our office provides to them. The face of a happy child who's more than elated seeing their schools being built and homes being constructed in spite of the non ending atrocities that they witness every single day.  More than that, it is the aspiration of having a just and lasting peace that our good office strives to make a reality.

"We are so blessed by having such a diversity of cultures, such a diversity of lifestyle... When I am able to claim my identity, not put that as a threat to others and not be threatened by the identities of others, then, I see a world that is more beautiful for every Filipino child." - Secretary Teresita Quintos-Deles, OPAPP

I am a FILIPINO.

  2. I like the fact that it's more like a journal, since I love writing in mine. Planners can sometimes feel so constricting, especially if you have so much you want to write about!
