Finally Found my Holy Grail in BodyFood's Perfume #1

I hope you guys have seen my FB and IG post raving about BodyFood Perfume #1.  I learned BodyFood from Ms. Cat Juan Ledesma, being an avid reader of her blog and I am so glad I did.  I easily fell in love with it because I love everything that is natural and local.

When the beautiful package arrived at my office,  I was like a child who giddily opens a gift. After sniffing it, the essential oils in the bottle when all mixed up is just heavenly.  The smell is classy. Amoy simbahan actually BUT it is the scent that is really so addicting. Believe me!

Perfume #1

From her IG feed: "Bodyfood Perfume #1 not the first one but no 1 because it is my favorite of all. A warm sweet and woody scent of essential oils of 100% Rose Absolute , Agarwood #1, Jasmine Gradiflora absolute and Frankincense in golden jojoba oil -this skin oil serves as a hand and face oil and as a natural perfume. Extremely addicting she is."

According to Ms. Ana Gutch, maker of the BodyFood, the fact that the rose’s essential oils is one of those that requires a lot of work to harvest makes it so precious, and the numerous healing benefits of frankincense makes the oil very much valuable.

Wrapped so lovely and personalized

This is maybe surreal but there is this inner happiness that I instantly feel whenever I apply it on my face as facial oil, and at the back of my temple as an instant perfume.

Just to give you an idea on how absolutely wonderful her works are,  I literally spent half of my day reading all those Ms. Ana's soap making rituals, the most natural of all ingredients that she is using, her passion that it's as if her soul is the one directing her to create her pieces.  Her IG feed are love! I have not yet purchased most of her oils but receiving Perfume #1 and internalizing her blog makes me feel that she really has the heart on making perfect soaps, oils, etc.

For those of you who wonder who she is and how BODYFOOD began, here is their story:

Some 14 years ago, that May, I found myself  in one of my life’s crossroads. To pursue medicine or not was the decision to be made.  As a lover of science and of life I had to redesign my path and to do so look beyond from what I thought all those years as the only way I could live doing what I love. Life decided for me eventually, Thank God,  and to cope with what was ahead I filled myself with beautiful ideas, got pregnant, and gave birth to BODYFOOD.
I was 22, not reckless, but lacking in wisdom.  My babies found their way to most local magazines as regular features for a span of four years, and in local TV stations too.  They had earned good reputation that had classified them beyond fad. The glory was nice but I was searching, and I was playing, and I was doing it all for fun.  I supplied other businesses with versions of mine, I supplied for spas, opened a shop, but I also took up photography,  ran a learning center, wallowed in my angst ( late bloomer ), met my husband, got into teaching, got married and crashed. Later, with too many  things going on I found myself cutting down on priorities to make way for a new venture, motherhood.  Everything had to take a step back and that I do not regret. Well, ano pa nag bang magagawa natin?.
Many years and many events in between, now I run the family’s school, a task not as easy as some may imagine.  Emotionally more than anything, when you devote yourself to human beings,  it takes from you.  Lately, I reunited with my first baby, and with a different mindset, began my new relationship with it. My relationship with BODYFOOD has evolved to that of a girl-friend.  We meet up when our hearts need each other, and we give to each other without judgment.
It’s all-heart, and it’s all love.

Ms. Ana make soft soaps, manzanilla, aromatherapy sprays and mist, repellants, masks, her most famous balm around, all natural lotion, even Banawe honey from her own backyard if I'm not mistaken, and a whole lot more!

    1. Hi Mommy Rowena! The Bodyfood Chamomile Lavender Manzanilla in Argan oil is used as you would use baby oil. It warms and soothes and calms and does not contain the mineral oil, green dye, and synthetic cham and citronella oil that you will otherwise find in those sold in drugstores. =)
